Pseudospectral Model Predictive Control under Partially Learned Dynamics

چکیده
Trajectory optimization of a controlled dynamical system is an essential part of autonomy, however many trajectory optimization techniques are limited by the fidelity of the underlying parametric model. In the field of robotics, a lack of model knowledge can be overcome with machine learning techniques, utilizing measurements to build a dynamical model from the data. This paper aims to take the middle ground between these two approaches by introducing a semi-parametric representation of the underlying system dynamics. Our goal is to leverage the considerable information contained in a traditional physics based model and combine it with a data-driven, non-parametric regression technique known as a Gaussian Process. Integrating this semi-parametric model with model predictive pseudospectral control, we demonstrate this technique on both a cart pole and quadrotor simulation with unmodeled damping and parametric error. In order to manage parametric uncertainty, we introduce an algorithm that utilizes Sparse Spectrum Gaussian Processes (SSGP) for online learning after each rollout. We implement this online learning technique on a cart pole and quadrator, then demonstrate the use of online learning and obstacle avoidance for the dubin vehicle dynamics.

Safe end-to-end imitation learning for model predictive control
We propose the use of Bayesian networks, which provide both a mean value and an uncertainty estimate as output, to enhance the safety of learned control policies under circumstances in which a test-time input differs significantly from the training set. Our algorithm combines reinforcement learning and end-to-end imitation learning to simultaneously learn a control policy as well as a threshold...
متن کاملNumerical simulation of the fluid dynamics in a 3D spherical model of partially liquefied vitreous due to eye movements under planar interface conditions
Partially liquefied vitreous humor is a common physical and biochemical degenerative change in vitreous body which the liquid component gets separated from collagen fiber network and leads to form a region of liquefaction. The main objective of this research is to investigate how the oscillatory motions influence flow dynamics of partial vitreous liquefaction (PVL). So far computational fluid d...

The view of considering global Pseudospectral methods ~Sinc and Fourier! as the infinite order limit of local finite difference methods, and vice versa, finite difference as a certain sum acceleration of the pseudospectral methods is exploited to investigate high order finite difference algorithms for solving the Schrödinger equation in molecular dynamics. A Morse type potential for iodine mole...

This research focuses on proposing an optimal trajectory planning and control method of two link rigid-flexible manipulators (TLRFM) for Dynamic Object Manipulation (DOM) missions. For the first time, achievement of DOM task using a rotating one flexible link robot was taken into account in [20]. The authors do not aim to contribute on either trajectory tracking or vibration control of the End-...
متن کاملA short note on simplified pseudospectral methods for computing ground state and dynamics of spherically symmetric Schrödinger-Poisson-Slater system
In a recent paper we proposed and compared various approaches to compute the ground state and dynamics of the Schrödinger–Poisson-Slater (SPS) system for general external potential and initial condition, concluding that the methods based on sine pseudospectral discretization in space are the best candidates. This note is concerned with the case that the external potential and initial condition ...
